How does it work?
1. Clients choose a subscription plan to lease a plot of forest based on their needs.
2. The physical forest is transformed into a digitalized forest, enabling near real-time tracking, as well as the use of additional analytical tools for improved monitoring and assessment.
3. As the land begins to absorb CO2, a corresponding number of tokens are generated for every unit of CO2 sequestrated by the forest.
4. These tokens can offset carbon footprint or serve as a sustainable investment.
Which Forest.io subscription plans can my company choose from?
Forest.io offers two subscription plans that clients can choose from.
Protection: The protection plan offers companies the chance to safeguard a portion of the rainforest's precious biodiversity, starting with a 1-year commitment and providing the option to prolong their subscription for additional years as desired. By preserving the land, companies play an active role in protecting our planet's delicate ecosystem.
Reforestation: The reforestation plan presents companies with the opportunity to plant native trees on their leased land for a period of 3 years. Following this period, the reforestation plan is transformed into the protection plan, focusing on the preservation of the forest’s rich biodiversity.
What is the range of land size available for lease?
The base unit for land lease is 1 hectare and there is no upper limit on the size of land that can be leased. For larger companies, we encourage them to contact us so we can provide customized solutions to fit their specific needs.
What is a digitalized forest?
A digitalized forest is a unique digital representation of a client's leased forest area. It is created for each individual plot of land and varies depending on the chosen subscription plan, whether it be for reforestation or protection purposes.
Everything you need to know about Forest.io tokens
Forest.io tokens are units generated by the leased land and each one represents 100kg of absorbed CO2. They can be then used to offset a client company's carbon footprint. A certificate will be issued after retiring carbon offsets and can be included in the company’s ESG reports. Holding the tokens should also be viewed as an economically viable option as they can generate significant future revenue.

This allows for extremely precise estimates of a client's plot of land, resulting in high-quality carbon offsets. Additionally, our technology provides ongoing forest monitoring, giving companies the option for near real-time tracking of their leased land.
What is the process?
Our satellite technology collects data on the designated land and generates a baseline prediction of carbon sequestration by comparing historical data with the project boundary. This allows us to accurately calculate the carbon content of the land. After the initial assessment, our technology continually monitors the land's development and any changes through near real-time tracking. This ensures that our carbon offsets are of the highest quality and that we can make adjustments as needed to maintain their accuracy.
What is near real-time tracking?
Near real-time tracking is a feature enabled by our satellites that allows users to monitor their land in almost real-time. Users gain access to valuable insights about their forest's health and status, such as wildfire alerts, deforestation tracking, or flood warnings. By utilizing this tool, our clients are empowered to take the necessary action to protect and maintain their land.
How is blockchain technology used to track and verify carbon offsets?
By leveraging blockchain technology, all transactions related to carbon credits are recorded on an immutable and decentralized ledger, providing an added layer of verification and accountability.
